Faith means leaving your eyes behind…

Pain

It really humbles you. Doesn’t it?
It reminds you how great you really are not. How badly you need help.
And how hopeless life can be.

Okay.

Now let in healing.

God puts His music in some people.
When they play it out, it sounds like this.

Joy.

The New

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Why should some Roman calendar dictate pivotal moments in our lives? Sure, we all need benchmarkers in our lives. We need notches in time to look back on and see where’ we’ve been, where we’ve come from, and what direction we were headed in at the time. But we cannot use our own willpower or any man made things to wash ourselves clean of our old selves. The creator, the artist of our universe, is the only one who can help us rub out and paint over old mistakes once and for all.

Rebellion Can Go Both Ways

I will feel forever blessed that I have no qualms about standing up to a crowed and saying “no” when it matters the most. Even if I cussed while doing it (By the way…sorry about that God.).

A Challange

A lot of times people don’t want witty banter, to hear the latest gossip, put up a facade, or go out for tasty or illegal treats. A lot of times people just want to have someone to listen to them. I’m sure it would surprise a lot of you to know how much a stranger or acquaintance would tell you if you just showed them a willingness to listen and not judge.

So today I am going to challenge you.

Find someone, anyone, and let them talk. Your best friend, a sibling, the a guy you’ve seen around a lot but never talked to before. . .it doesn’t matter. Sit them down and ask them about their story, ask them how they are doing, and keep an open heart. You never know! You could meet a future best friend or even spouse. Or, you could just have a really nice talk.

Will you be brave enough to try it?

‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Jeremiah 1:4-9

The Call of Jeremiah
4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

6 “Alas, Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”

7 But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.

9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth.
